Hi, I'm Sonya, and I am a co-founder and the Managing Director of Biomedical Devices Australia.
Growing up as the youngest of six during the 1960s in mining town in country SA, meant life was pretty basic - helping out at the family's pet shop and poultry farm, wearing clothes passed down from my siblings, and finding adventures in books. It was a straightforward life, no fancy stuff, but it came with its challenges. And for me, bedwetting was one of those big challenges..
This wasn't a short phase; it was something I dealt with until I was 15. It made for tough times, with the usual sibling teasing and certainly never any compassion or understanding from my parents. Quite the opposite! These experiences weren't easy, but they taught me a lot about resilience and empathy, qualities that have stayed with me.
This part of my life, something I used to see as a personal failing, turned out to be a source of strength. It's what led me to write "Conquering Bedwetting: The Parents' Roadmap to Dry Nights."
